Throw Materials : String or tape

Paper
Plates
Directions : Mark a square at one end of a room with string
or tape. Have your child stand back several feet and try to throw paper
plates into the square. A child playing alone can see how many plates land
in the square in a designated time.
Two or more children can take
turns throwing plates to see who has more successful throws. You may want to
color-code each child's plates or label them with the child's name.
Name
Games Directions: What's the connection between an avocado and
an aardvark? Find out with this activity! Hold up whatever ingredient you're
using and say its name. You and your child have to come up with as many
words as you can that start with the same letter as the object (they don't
necessarily have to be food-related).
For example, hold up an egg.
Immediately, the words start: "elephant," "elf," "extraterrestrial"
. . . To give yourselves some variety, try thinking of words that begin with
the last letter of the food, or words that rhyme with the food. A more
sophisticated version, for older kids, involves thinking of opposites. If
the item in the recipe is round, kids have to think of a square food (box of
cereal or brick of cheese). If it's soft, then the goal is to come up with
something hard. Same with qualities like "bitter" and "sweet,"
and so on. Now, then, what's the opposite of broccoli?
Besides many
basket ball, volley ball, table tennis, cricket, base ball are the other
choices also.
